Brainstorming Package for world building with Writership.org

The brainstorming package

Every writer should have an opportunity to talk about their universe. If you have an idea for a fictional world and want to flesh it out to see if it makes sense, this package is for you.

This critique is also a great way to troubleshoot issues in a current project or fine-tune the history or social conflict going on in the background that affects the characters or plot.

How does it work?

  • Send a writing sample that describes your universe, the magic system, and how your main character relates to both (up to five double-spaced pages in Times New Roman 12pt. with one inch margins or 1,250 words).
  • It can be either prose (recommended) or a synopsis.
  • We’ll discuss your world and its specific issues over Skype for 30 minutes.
  • You’ll receive a copy of the recorded call to keep, so you don't have to worry about taking notes and can instead focus on the conversation.

What's the investment?

This package is $125 and includes an expert review of your world, a 30-minute discussion, and a recording of the call to keep.

Foundation Package for world building with Writership.org

The Foundation work package

This is the foundation on which we’ll build your universe. We’ll name nations, develop the magic system and the various alien races or family history, discuss and create alliances, and even spin a villain or two.

We’ll meet over Skype in two sessions for a total of two hours, plus you’ll get email support between calls.

How does it work?

  • We'll start with a Skype meeting where we’ll spend one hour discussing your world and universe.
  • During the call, we’ll develop the outline of your world.
  • You’ll then write a five-page (or roughly 1,250-word) overview.
  • While you’re writing, you can email me with any questions you have.
  • In the second Skype meeting, we’ll spend one hour solidifying the foundation of the world and building a series arc.
