To whet your appetite and keep your writing fingers limber, take a good look at the photo, or let a prompt settle in your mind. Set a timer for a reasonable amount of time, be that five, fifteen, or thirty minutes. Then start writing.

FICTION

Your character is hunting for a specific object in this room. What is it? Why does he need it? Once he finds it, write an ending where everything falls into place and then one where everything falls apart.

MEMOIR

Tell about a time when you had to clean up a room that was full of stuff.  Or write about your relationship with stuff. Do you collect things? Do you live minimally?

NONFICTION

Write an article with tips for people who need to clean up a messy room quickly.
